Program description:

This broadcast features reports on ongoing research of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), regulatory efforts to develop mercury emissions for fossil-fuel-fired utility boilers, and the State of Florida's management of prescribed burning as a nontraditional air pollution source.

A number of MACT related stories are also featured in the broadcast, including steps that a State and local air pollution control agency can take to implement one of the promulgated MACT standards. Also, how one State went about issuing a one-year extension for complying with an applicable MACT standard. In addition, updates on recently published Federal Notices on MACT related subjects are addressed.

The broadcast provides an overview of the recent Air Toxics Implementation Workshop held in early April. It also includes a segment featuring the recent video "Understanding Air Toxics" and include other topics of interest.

This broadcast was developed especially to support Tribal, State, and local implementation of air toxic reduction programs.
