This edition features:

Program description:

This broadcast will feature reports on a State initiative that replaces facility-specific state permits with industry-wide environmental performance standards and annual certifications of compliance; on the relationship between the air toxics program and the highest priority air program, PM fine; and an update on the Cleveland indoor air project.

A number of MACT related stories will also be featured in the broadcast, including a feature story on the implications to Tribal/State/local air agencies of a proposed settlement agreement for the Section 112(j) MACT Hammer program. The broadcast will also feature a story on the requirements included in a recently promulgated MACT standard for the Rubber Tire Industry and offer an update on the status of the development of the MACT standard for Industrial Boilers. In addition, updates on recently published Federal Notices on MACT related subjects will be addressed.

The broadcast will also feature a story that looks at the residual risk program and the efforts underway to develop risk assessment guidelines. A number of research programs will be highlighted including a NOAA mussel watch program that is part of the Persistent Organic Pollutant program.

Finally, a sneak preview of the 2003 Air Toxics Implementation Workshop will be provided along with announcements on air toxic topics that may be of interest to the viewers.

Target audience:

This broadcast is developed especially for State, local and Tribal air toxics personnel to support implementation of air toxic reduction programs.
